Why buy AMD?

May 19, 2008 22:03 by Aaron Zercher

This is my first serious blog ever...so bare with me.

With that said, I need to state something before I begin.  I am a diehard Intel fan.  I love Intel and I don't like AMD.  But this blog post is about buying AMD.  Why on earth would an Intel-fanboy.  I am sure all of you have heard about how poorly AMD is doing in recent months in sales.  Even people have left AMD and gone elsewhere (Intel maybe?).  That being said I would like those who read this to begin supporting AMD.   Here are my reasons (and this is not rocket sience):

  1. AMD is a minority in the CPU/GPU world.
  2. AMD is sales are dwindling into nothing.
  3. If AMD should go under, Intel would be the only one (save tiny tiny VIA).
  4. Thus Intel will raise prices and could charge whatever they want.

We are currently seeing this with Oil and Gas.  These are 2 commodities that the US and the World cannot live without.  There is no competition.  If there would be a radical "alternate fuel" source then there would be competition and prices of gas may go down to the .39 cent mark.  So the same goes for AMD, if they go under, Intel will hold 99.9% of the market on cpu's and since Apple uses their products, that leaves VIA and the other lesser known/used manufacturers.  With AMD out of the picture, Intel could and wouldn't stop at charging anything they wanted.

Moral:  Buy AMD!

Designer Needed!

May 8, 2008 10:28 by Andrew Male
As I've stated, we're looking to build a brand new blogging system here at STH.  Right now, we at STH and Zibings have plenty of development power.  The one thing we're lacking however, is a designer.  If anyone out there would be interested in volunteering to lend a hand, please let us know either here or on our forums!

Where We're Going

April 29, 2008 07:31 by Andrew Male

Now that we have the new site up, some of you may be wondering what we're planning.  Well the first thing we should mention, is that this is not how our site is going to look/run for very long.  We are developing some new blogging software just for STH that will allow us to offer free blogs to technical experts from around the world.  The system could take us a little while to complete, so until then, we'll do our best to keep things rolling right here and on the forums.  When we get closer to being able to release the software, we'll probably ask a few of you to beta test it for us, so make sure you're active on the forums.

SuperTechHelp.com will be a place for exactly that, super technological help.  I know I'm looking forward to this, I hope you all are too!
